Each February we start our election process by nominating members for our Board of Directors for the next school year. Nominations are due one week before our March meeting. Music Boosters members can nominate themselves or another member for a Board position by contacting our election committee to be placed on the ballot. During the March election meeting, ballots are available for in-person voting, and the new Board members will be announced that same evening. All six Board positions are open every year. The positions and responsibilities are as follows:
PRESIDENT: Coordinate the work of officers and committees to further the goals of the organization. Preside at all meetings. Sign any documents that the Board has authorized to be executed. Must have the availability and commitment to sign checks once a week in the music office during the school year.
VICE PRESIDENT: In the absence of the president, the VP shall perform the duties of the President. Must have the availability and commitment to sign checks once a week in the music office during the school year.
TREASURER: Works with the clerical administrator or financial professional to provide a summary of finances to the Music Boosters Board. Helps make deposits as needed. (does not sign checks).
SECRETARY: Keeps accurate records of the proceedings of all meetings. Prepared to refer to minutes of previous meetings. Keeps current copy of the bylaws and standing rules. Keeps current list of officers, directors and members with email addresses and phone numbers. Helps draft emails and letters to our membership and our community. Must have the availability and commitment to sign checks once a week in the music office during the school year.
INSTRUMENTAL PARENT REPRESENTATIVE /LIAISON: Attends Music Boosters meetings. When the Instrumental Music Director is not available the parent liaison will give the report on behalf of the Instrumental Music Director. The liaison also helps coordinate volunteers for Instrumental and Boosters concerts and events. Liaison can be a check signer if needed.
CHORAL PARENT REPRESENTATIVE /LIAISON: Attends Music Boosters meetings. When the Choral Music Director is not available the parent liaison will give the report on behalf of the Choral Music Director.
